This camp will introduce you to competitive badminton (not slow-speed backyard badminton). You will learn how to hit the bird at speeds well over 60 mph but yet be able to hit so softly that the bird barely drops over the 5-foot net. This is a sport you can learn now and enjoy forever.
You will be learning from camp coaches who have played at the national level. Based on your ability, the coaches will provide either introductory level training or more advanced training. You will have lots of games (singles and doubles) against other campers with similar skills – you will have lots of fun competition.
And very importantly, once you start attending ninth grade and beyond, you will become prepared to lead your varsity high school badminton team to victory.
Racquets and birds will be furnished. There will be 2 sessions, so you can start in June and continue learning in August. All you need are your sneakers and a winning attitude.
Here are your camp coaches:
Rick Wiker - a senior state champion in MD, PA and DEL
Elliott Strahan - doing a jump smash below
